God’s Outrageous Claimsby Lee StrobelThe author of three Case for... books turns to something a little different in this volume. This book focuses on thirteen different Bible claims that, from a human perspective, often seem outrageous. From the back: “Take the Bible seriously and you’ll discover that God makes some pretty amazing claims about you—and about what he wants you to do in your life. God’s Outrageous Claims examines important assertions that can transform your life in to an adventure of faith, growth, and lasting fulfillment.” The “Outrageous Claims” that Strobel examines:
Because of the nature of the book, you can read the chapters individually, or out of order, without losing anything. Each chapter stands on its own and is its own study. As is the case in such books, some of the chapters are better than others. But, overall, every chapter was worth reading. This isn’t the best book that I’ve ever read, but it was a good book. Don’t feel compelled to drop everything that you’re doing, rush out to get it, and move it to the top of your reading list. But, if you see it somewhere for a good price, go ahead and grab it. And when you find time to read it, you’ll find that it was worth the time you gave it. EditorsStanding-Alone.com The Editors do not advocate everything taught by the authors of the books we review. Like us, these authors are fallible humans and those who choose to read these books should measure them by the bible, the one true standard. |
