And Yet...

God loved us so much He had His Son die;
And yet we are so hateful.
We have the Bible right in front of our eyes;
And yet so few are faithful.

His Son suffered pain and agony so we might be saved;
And yet so many have hate on their hearts so deeply engraved.
He had nails in His hands, thorns on His head, and a nail through both feet;
And yet at the first sign of ridicule, so many of us become weak.

Jesus gave up His life so we might see Heaven in the end;
And yet so many of us are afraid to give up one simple friend.
So many of us are afraid our friends will laugh if we believe;
And yet by trusting Him first, there's so much we can achieve.

We can achieve the goal of Heaven and living with God on high;
And yet that wouldn't be possible if God hadn't sent His Son to die.
