Dear Readers,

I have been managing (or co-managing) this website since September, 2001. Although a few were missed here or there, I have updated it with new material nearly every month since it began—and, for the first few months, nearly every week.

My life is as busy now as it ever has been, and there is only more busy-ness on the horizon. In addition to working full time and trying to be a good husband, I’m in the midst of grad school and trying to get a publishing company off the ground—a task that will bring more projects than I can currently imagine, I’d guess.

It’s time to simplify where I can. To that end, I will no longer be promising monthly updates here at Standing Alone. I will post a new article here or there when I find the time, and I’ll continue to briefly review the books I read as I read them, but I need to simplify where I can—and SA is one place I can.

I have no desire to let this site fall into disrepair. I have every intention of keeping the domain active for those who will spend time in the archives or the book reviews. And I will be adding content—just not regularly. (Click the Article Archive link to the right and follow it to the current year. New articles will be posted there. New book reviews will simply be added to the master lists.)

My thanks to Chad Dorrell, who helped me get this off the ground, lo, these many years ago; to Steve Wallace, who helped with the redesign along the way; and to all the freelance writers who sent an article or two—or a couple of dozen—my way through the years.

Editor, Standing-Alone.com
